Hey everyone This may help the family to post what they are planning for the trip.
There are some that have been to Alaska before to some of these ports, please let the others know what you have planned and what is nice to see in the different ports.
One of the things me and Tami have booked is the White Pass Scenic Railroad in Skagway port. We have a friend that has been to Alaska and has been to Skagway many of times. He looked at what we could book and stated that the one thing he would make sure we did was the Railroad. We are booked for it but that is all we have booked so far.
I figured this would be a good way for everyone to post what they have planned so others could see so we could book a bunch of things together.
Hope all is well with everyone.
Love
Kevin
Alaska will be great
ReplyDeleteYou can use the onboard credit for the shore excursions - BUT - you would need to wait until you are onboard to confirm them, because when
ReplyDeleteyou confirm the shore excursions, they require payment at that time. Some of the excursions will sell out, so I don't know if I would recommend waiting
until you are onboard if it is a shore excursion you really want to do.
OK this is what Mark and Lisa booked.
ReplyDeleteIn Sitka we are on the waiting list for the ocean raft adv,and we booked the sea life tour,In Juneau we booked the Mendenhall Glacier river float.
In Skagway we booked the Klondike adventure park and Zip lines.
And in Ketchikan we booked the Rainforest canoe and nature trail.

We'll be adding more, I just haven't decided what yet and Nae hasn't had a chance to look at the options.
E'Lane, you said you've already done some of the options when you were in Alaska before. What did you do and what did you like or disliked?
Has anyone else been on any of the excursions or had people tell them it's a must see/do?
ReplyDeleteHey it is nice to see that others are using this.
ReplyDeleteI hope it is helpful.
Me and Tami have booked the following
In Sitka
Sea otter and Wildlife Quest
In Juneau
The Mendenhall Glacier native canoe adventure
Skagway
White pass scenic railroad
Ketchikan
Saxman Native Village and Lumberjack show
Kevin, The saxman lumberjack show is where you go out and see all these old Totem poles and then the lumberjack show, when we where there they kinda told us that it is ok but alittle borring. It is a cool town with all sorts of stores and stuff to see, so that is why we are doing the less time show so we can see the town.
ReplyDeleteI don't think we went to sitka, or I don't remember doing anything there.
In Juneau, we did the best of Juneau...I did not see it listed, but some of the stuff is listed. We went to Mendenhall glacier, then to whale watching, then a salmon bake. This was a great excursion...we saw humpback whales not orka whales and enjoyed the salmon bake...it's in the outdoors, picnic tables, but it was good.
Skagway we rode the Train...very good, beutiful and informative. Then walked through the town...very small town, not much to see.
There is a post office in town, so if you want to ship something home(we shipped knifes home, because we din't know about customs) but this is there.
Ketchikan, we did a canoeing thing(not worth it) but there was a zip line at the same location that looked great. Kevins mom/dad went to the Lumberjack show and loved it. When we got back to town we went to a totem pole museum and then walked down through the town. Museum cost was alot for some old totem poles(not worth it).
This is a great little town, our friends son lives there...all of of the stores are owned by the same company...just a heads up. But this is where we buy the salmon and they ship it home to ya.
We are not trying to not do things with all of you, we were just trying to do different things that we have not done.
Anymore questions let me know.
